GANJA LA PASSES

Ganja La pass is one of the difficult Himalayan passes with a high of 5132 m. In Ganja la pass trek, trekkers can enjoy Buddhist culture and tradition. Beautiful Himalayan sightseeing, as well as a beautiful Buddhist monastery, can be seen on the way.        
The route from Kyanjin Gompa in Langtang to Tarke Gyang in Helambu crossing 5106 m begins Ganja La Pass trekking. Crossing the Langtang Khola below Kyanjin Gompa, the trail makes a steep climb along the ridge on the south side of the valley through a forest of rhododendron and juniper. Ganja La trail continues south, following streams and moraines and climbing steeply towards the pass. The views to the north from the pass, of Langtang Lirung and the snow peaks in Tibet, including Shisha Pangma at 8013 m, are outstanding.

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m):

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu international airport, our representative will meet and welcome you to Nepal and then you will be transferred to the hotel. Once you finish the check-in procedure, you can rest and relax at the hotel.  After short rest, we take you short Thamel tour which is main tourist hub in Kathmandu to make you familiar with some good restaurants, ATMs, money changer, Supermarket, gear shop and other necessary things you might need for your trip. After a short explore you will be taken to our office for a trip briefing meeting. Overnight in hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing:

Pashupatinath Temple: It is a most famous Hindu temple devoted to Lord Shiva, located beside the Bagmati River. One of the most significant temples for the Hindu devotees around the world and the UNESCO site. The golden pagoda style temple is richly carved with silver doors. On the day of Shivaratri, a big fair is held around the month of February/March.
Boudhanath stupa: One of the biggest Stupas in the world is located on the east in Kathmandu. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four prime directions, keeping watch for virtuous behavior and human success. King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini had built this remarkable Stupa. The Stupa resembles the Mahayana philosophy. After back from the tour you have some times for rest and prepare your gear and so on. Overnight in hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,420 m):

After breakfast, we drive out along the northern highway that twists and climbs over mountain ridges to the Trishuil valley. You will witness nice scenery of white snowcapped mountains like Mt. Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other minor peaks along the route and as well as green scenery of hillock, rivers, and village. Enjoy the Himalayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the Trishuli Bazar, Betrawati and Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep lands. The journey will take 7-8 hours’ drive. Overnight relax at a local teahouse in Syabrubesi. Overnight local lodge.

Day 04: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2380 m):

After breakfast, we start to walk own our pace and the trail ascends for around two hours through the forest followed by a climb of about an hour to reach Bamboo village (1,850m/6,068ft) where we stop for hot lunch. This forested path with well-establized trails and following the upstream and can be seen birds life around the bushes. Beehives hanging on a cliff are another attraction for the visitors. From here we again steeply climb through the bamboo forest to reach the Lama Hotel for overnight. Overnight local lodge.

Day 05: Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3,480 m):

We commence the trek with a breakfast at the lodge. It is a great day to reach the beautiful valley that goes through the dense rhododendron forest. Then we leave the tree line behind and enter into the Langtang valley through GhodaTabela. LangtangLirung stunningly entices us on the horizon. The harness bell on the horse’s neck continually rings and the fluttering prayer flags welcome us to its astounding landscape. Langtang valley is located below the massive Langtang glacier. Overnight local lodge.

Day 06: Langtang village to KyanjingGompa (3,870 m):

From the Langtang valley, we take the route that includes the pasture land. On the way, we can see the largest Mani wall with the prayer inscription. We cross various wooden bridges and walk through the winding trail. Gradually, we reach the Kyanjin village, where the remarkable KyyanjinGompa lies. Local houses are made with the stone roofs and in antique style. Overnight local lodge.

Day 07: Rest day at Kyanjin Gompa:

Today is the rest and exploration day of the trekking. You may have a full day of rest and relaxation in the surrounding area. We visit the monastery and the cheese factory or may walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtanglirung or ascend kyanjinRi (4350m) and TserkoRi (5000m), which is the highest point of this trek. Hike easy for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtanglirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansatsenji. We also have options to do a side trip to Langshisakharka. There are several alternatives sided trips, the surrounding areas of north having many smaller uninhabited valleys. Spend your night back to Kyanjin. Overnight local lodge.

Day 08: Kyanjing Gompa to Tserko Ri –Kyanjing  (5,033 m):

Trek and climb up to Tserko Ri (5033 m.) which takes about 5 hours to see the outstanding views of surrounding peaks and back to Kyangin Gompa. Overnight local lodge.

Day 09: Kyanjing Gompa to Negang (4000 m):

Trek from Kyanjing Gompa to Ngegang(4000 m), There you cannot see any villages. The trail goes on ascending and the area is covered with little natural vegetation. Since there are not available any lodge, you need to camp. Overnight local lodge.

Day 10: Ngegang to Keldang (5106 m) 5hrs via Ganja la (5122 m):

Trek Ngegang to Keldang (5106 m.) via Ganja La (5122 m.) This day is comparatively strenuous as you need to cross the Ganja La pass. On the Ganja la pass, you can find it covered with snowy ice most of the times throughout the year. You need to camp. Overnight local lodge.

Day 11: Keldang To Dukpu (4080 m):

Trek Keldang to Dukpu(4080 m.) Your camping site will be inside the forest. This day will be long day walking along the ridge, grassland, very silent, amazing views of Mountains. Overnight local lodge.

Day 12: Dukpu to Tarkegyang (2740 m):

Trek Dukpu to Tarkeghyang( 2740 m.) The trail descends about 200 mtrs, climb the 4100 m pass. Views from Pass are spectacular to the Annapurna Region and Mt. Everest region too. From the pass, the trail descends through pine forest, rhododendron forest past tiny herder's settlement to Tarkeghyang. You can visit one of the oldest Buddhist monastery and Sherpa villages. These villages are well settled where friendly and cheerful natured people inhabit. Overnight local lodge.

Day 13: Tarke Ghyang – Sermanthang (2,620 m):

Sermanthang is another village rich in culture and is full of natural wonders surrounding it. About five hours of the walk takes us to Sermanthang. Along the trail, we pass through many other villages rich in Sherpa culture and inspiring simplicity of life. We also walk through some forested area along the trail before reaching Sermanthang. Overnight local lodge.

Day 14: Sermanthang – Melamchi PulBazar – Kathmandu:

As the final day of walk in the Gosainkunda Helambu region, we trek to MelamchiPul Bazar. We trek down past many villages with their traditional cultures. We will also walk through terraced fields that people do farming on. Once we reach MelamchiPul Bazar, we will stop for the lunch before setting off on a drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 15:  Kathmandu Tour (Hidden places in Kathmandu and Durbar square):

Today we will walk around the local town in Kathmandu to experience the historical, cultural and spiritual affluence to unveil the social and historical mysteries to view the artistic Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour to capture the snaps of the centuries-old monuments and historical crafts in the Kathmandu city. We explore the Local market of Ason, glass beads market at Indrachowk, oldest supermarket at New Road, Kilagal, and Hidden Stupa, etc. Then we walk to Kathmandu Durbar Square. The most unique experience in the square is the visit to the temple of the living goddess “Kumari”. Durbar square walking tour will be a perfect mixture of culture, history, art, architecture and traditional values prevalent in Kathmandu valley. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 16: Departure Day:

As per your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the international airport of Kathmandu 3 hours prior to the flight time and your tour ends here.
